UNIVERSAL ANTI-BACKGROUND EYE IN IGOM CE

The “UNIVERSAL” anti-surge nozzle is one of the most valid systems for connecting downspouts and drains in flat roofs, in the gutters of multi-pitched roofs and in the valleys of industrial warehouses. It is also particularly suitable for use on roofs made with membranes formed with a modified bitumen membrane such as APP, SBS, or coated bitumen. Its construction is studied in detail, in fact the construction has optimal characteristics to eliminate serious and costly drawbacks created by traditional unions on the market. The material used for the realization of the nozzle is IGOM, it is a synthetic rubber compound which offers a range of chemical and physical technical characteristics that can satisfy all the needs of an elastic article, in fact the suitably formulated IGOM provides a ” high resistance to degradation caused by the sun, ozone and other atmospheric and chemical agents. It can be used in a wide range of temperatures giving high flexibility at low temperatures and is stable over time, given its physical and mechanical characteristics. Therefore a material which, thanks to its excellent quality, ensures perfect efficiency over the years. The grille consists of a truncated body, of variable diameter, integral with a wide anchoring plate and which has knurls of the same material on the upper surface to facilitate adherence with the membranes. The shank is provided with two or more well positioned circular flanges, facing outwards, which, by forcing elastically on the internal surface of the exhaust pipe, ensure that the nozzle has anti-surge properties and a perfect seal: in fact, when inserting the exhaust pipe, they undergo an upward bending and consequently to the pressure exerted, they guarantee a perfect adherence with any type of hose. In this way, the passage of water vapors and any liquid masses (regurgitation) is eliminated which, filtering under the waterproof covering, invalidate the effectiveness of the insulation: a factor which naturally constitutes one of the most serious drawbacks for the waterproof covers

1 – Spreading a coat of primer in the area of ​​the exhaust pipe (500×500 mm).
2 – Flame bonding of the first membrane layer, cut this in correspondence with the drain hole.
3 – Heat the membrane surface and position the nozzle, thus obtaining adhesion in the lower part of the flange.
4 – Flame pour from a strip of membrane, spread the paste that comes down with a trowel over the entire flange, thus filling the cavities
of the knurls.
5 – Proceed with the waterproof covering (2nd membrane), heating the two surfaces (impregnated flange and membrane of the
waterproof mantle).
6 – Cut the membrane in correspondence with the hole, which must be at least 10 mm. smaller than the diameter of the nozzle shank,
heat moderately and fold the edge down.
7 – Insert the leaf guard.
N.B .: If the waterproof covering is in a single layer, at point 2 replace the membrane layer with a piece of the same, measuring mm. 500×500. It is recommended that all overlapping layers are pressed sufficiently.
